In short: this website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services and loads no content from third-party servers. Data is only processed when you book through our booking system or contact us. The German version is legally binding.

2. What happens when you visit the website
Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4-6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany. When you visit, the hosting provider automatically processes the data your browser transmits on our behalf: IP address, date and time, page requested, data volume, browser type and version, operating system and referrer. The purpose is the technically sound and secure delivery of the website. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log files are deleted automatically after a short time. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place; processing takes place in Germany.
No cookies, no tracking
This website stores no cookies and does not access information on your device beyond what is technically necessary. Consent under Section 25 TDDDG is therefore not required and no cookie banner is needed. We use no analytics, statistics or advertising services. Should we introduce services that require consent, we will obtain it beforehand through a consent banner and update this policy.
Fonts and images on our own server
The “Outfit” typeface (SIL Open Font License) and all images are stored on our own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other external servers is made.
Encryption
Transmission is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).
3. Booking through our booking system
Rooms are booked through the booking engine of Mews Systems B.V., Herengracht 124, 1015 BT Amsterdam, Netherlands, which opens in a new window when you click “Book a room” or “Check availability”. If you enter arrival, departure and number of guests in the booking form on our website, these details are passed to Mews to display matching availability. Only there do you enter your name, contact and payment details. Processing serves the initiation and performance of the contract (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). Mews processes the data on our behalf; the Mews privacy policy also applies. We retain booking data for as long as required for the stay, invoicing and statutory retention periods (up to ten years under German commercial and tax law).
4. Contact
If you call or email us, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, request) to respond. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for booking enquiries, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the data once your request is dealt with and no retention obligations apply.
5. Registration obligation during your stay
On arrival we are required under the German Federal Registration Act (Sections 29, 30 BMG) to complete a registration form with your details. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR. Registration forms are kept for one year and destroyed within three months thereafter.
6. Links to external services
We link to Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited), Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited) and the websites of Schöne Momente, nord fitness and Nord Sonne. These services are not embedded. You leave our website only when you click; the respective provider's privacy policy then applies. Meta and Google may transfer data to the USA; both are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
7. Recipients, third countries, retention
Recipients are our hosting provider and, for bookings, Mews Systems (processors). We do not transfer data to countries outside the EU. We store data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose or as required by law. No automated decision-making including profiling takes place.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection of Lower Saxony, Prinzenstraße 5, 30159 Hannover, Germany, lfd.niedersachsen.de.
10. Changes
We update this policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
